Ron has 40 years’ experience in fundraising management as a consultant and as a senior executive for a number of not-for-profit organizations. Ron has executive leadership experience developing, implementing and managing nonprofit institutions and philanthropic programs throughout the United States and Western Europe. He had a successful career in the not-for-profit sector serving many prestigious organizations, including San Francisco’s French Hospital Foundation, where he was President and CEO for more than 13 years.

Ron has had a broad and diversified career—not only in the fund development industry but also in business. He has worked in the financial planning industry, actively manages a real estate portfolio in Arizona and has been in the venture capital business raising private equity funds for Core Technologies “Holosphere 4D” project in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

He truly has an entrepreneurial spirit and drive. His broad experiences has given him the ability to assess situations quickly and accurately and recommend a course of action that is appropriate and inspires cooperation and support from both staff and volunteers.

Ron has supervised or directed more than 100 capital and endowment campaigns throughout the United States for various organizations including educational, hospitals and healthcare systems, cultural, animal welfare, religious, and human services nonprofits raising more than a billion dollars. He has experience working with leadership, major gift solicitation, and has expertise in estate planning, board development, organizational strategic planning, marketing/branding and capital campaigns.

Additionally, Ron has served on the board and as Chair of the San Francisco Public Health Foundation and as President of Safe Kids America, national children’s safety awareness and self-defense program. He is past Conference Chair of several AFP’s Educational Conferences, a volunteer Mentor for the Association of Fundraising Executives and the Arizona Community Foundation. He is actively involved as a volunteer with The Arizona Leader Force, the Arizona Elk Society and a number of other non-profit organizations. A graduate of the University of California Irvine and Cypress College.  Ron has received numerous awards including the University of California, Irvine, Lauds and Laurels Award for Community Service and the School of Social Ecology Award for Community Service.

Ron is one of only 181 professionals worldwide to hold the designation of FELLOW since its inception in 1967 by the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy. He is also a Certified Fundraising Executive with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, CFRE, and a member of for Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. In addition, he has lectured and has published extensively on various business and fundraising topics.
